I grew up in the kitchen being one of seven children and I had plenty of opportunities to cook and bake. Baking has always been my passion and ten years ago my sister and I founded Doughmakers Gourmet Bakeware. While promoting our bakeware I had the opportunity to visit many gourmet stores across the country and give baking classes. Also I have done a bi-monthly baking segment on the local Terre Haute television station, WTWO, as well as doing baking and decorating demonstrations for news programs throughout the country. In 2004 we worked with HarperCollins Publishers Inc., and published the Doughmakers Cookbook.
Being a former hairdresser and florist I have a very creative side that I like to express. In August 2006 I attended Wilton’s Master Cake Decorating Course which was a two week boot camp in Chicago, IL. It was at this course where I discovered that my past careers of floral designing and hairdressing enhanced my ability to learn the latest cake decorating styles and techniques. This course gave me the foundation and experience to work with brides to create a unique cake that is all their own.
Also, over the last five years I helped plan each of my daughter’s weddings. In the process I found that it was very difficult to find a cake designer that would create a beautiful wedding cake that also tasted delicious. Your wedding day only comes once in a life time and you dream about it from the time you are a little girl. You want everything to be perfect which means paying attention to even the smallest details. My goal is to prepare each cake as though I was making it for my daughter. I want to make sure that I do my part in giving you the wedding of your dreams.
